Webinar - Climate Action: Designing with Policy in Mind

Webinar - Climate Action: Designing with Policy in Mind

Tuesday, June 8, 2021 (10:00 AM - 11:30 AM) (PDT)

Description

Climate change is one of, if not the most important and urgent issues of our time. Bold climate action is the foundation of our future economic and social wellbeing. And yet, at a time when we need coordinated, strategic and visionary action to safeguard our future, we see a leadership deficiency and powerful interests at work that oppose stronger climate action.

In this context, strategic climate action requires leaders with the ability to understand, inform, reform and leverage policies to drive effective, just, and holistic climate action measures in both the public and private sectors.

Moderated by Dr. Robin Cox, program head for the Graduate Diploma and Master of Arts in Climate Action Leadership programs, this panel discussion will explore the way forward to an equitable, climate resilient and sustainable future.

We will explore the nature of policy work, and how climate action leaders can leverage policy to move businesses, communities and governments towards a net zero, climate adaptive and resilient future. Our panelists will discuss why policy-informed and policy-savvy leadership is needed and share their on-the-ground experiences to illustrate strategies for generating, refining and using policies to leverage and enact the changes needed for the economic, social, environmental, and cultural well-being of Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples, communities, and societies.

We encourage you to register even if you are unable to attend. Everyone who registers will receive a link to the webinar recording.
