Who is Alacrity Canada and what do we do?

We are a not-for-profit technology incubator amplifying B.C’s tech ecosystem. We’ve developed 10 programs over the past decade that have supported entrepreneurs through the trials of starting up & scaling their businesses. Crossing several sectors, our portfolio is disrupting and providing new-age solutions in Internet Security, Data and Cleantech, and AI and Digital Adoption. In partnership with our Alacrity Global team, we tap into markets in Latin America, South Asia and Europe. Exporting our portfolio’s solutions to these regions helps drive success for our companies on a global scale.

Alacrity's Cleantech Program:

Alacrity’s BC Cleantech Initiative supports the scale-up of BC-based clean technology companies that are at the commercialization stage to drive export revenue and growth capital from select foreign markets.

About the Role:

This role will receive direction from the Program Manager and will provide the full range of administrative and operational services. The role is accountable for the effective daily tasks for the program including but not limiting communication with all stakeholders and portfolio companies. Providing a well-organized, efficient and professional front line image with internal and external clients is a key part of this role. Activities will include but are not limited to continuing to build out communication protocols (both written and verbal within the team), liaise with customers and companies at all levels, manage issues of a sensitive nature and resolve conflicts in a professional manner. Able to produce briefing notes and other reports and presentation materials. Work with Administrative staff, Accounting, Technology and Marketing teams to ensure the successful delivery of the Cleantech Program.

Key Responsibilities:

● Read and analyze incoming correspondence.

● Review and monitor calendar to ensure timely and accurate delivery of objectives as set by the Program Manager.

● Manage all documentation for portfolio companies.

● Report and directly correspond with portfolio companies, global teams and internal stakeholders.

● Generate reports and work with the Accounting department on efforts.

● Set up meetings and maintain schedules with other team members.

● Responsible for all meeting minutes and timely distribution.

● Set up meetings with the global team and attend regular meetings.

● Work closely with the Marketing Assistant to ensure efforts are maximized.

● General administrative tasks including planning and executing operational needs of the program as the primary point of contact in a support role.


● Minimum 2 years of experience in a business/professional setting.

● Strong business acumen with an ability to organize and work with conflicting priorities.

● Post Secondary School education or equivalent an asset.

● Social Media and Marketing experience is an asset.

● Advanced Microsoft Office Skills.

● Exceptional English Proficiency, both written and verbal.

● Experience with drafting documents.

● Proficiency in project management software tools is an asset.

● Strong record management experience skills.

● Advanced time management and analytical skills.

● Excellent client-facing communication skills.

● Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline.

● Experience in the non for profit or tech sector is an asset.

● Completing other ad hoc projects as deemed necessary by the Program Manager.
