The Job
We are seeking a Communications & Marketing Coordinator who will assist our interdisciplinary team in promoting our state-of-the-art electromagnetic technologies.
This position includes the following roles and responsibilities:
- Contribute to Company Marketing Strategy: Collaborate with sales, marketing, product design and product development team members to plan promotional marketing campaigns.
- Produce Content Marketing Materials: Work alongside our engineering team to create informative written content for publication. Work alongside a dedicated video production team to create informative content regarding the company’s technology and products. Suggest ideas for other marketing initiatives and see these ideas through to publication.
- Coordinate Content Marketing Efforts: Lead team meetings that are efficient and effective. Plan upcoming campaigns and take responsibility for ensuring marketing deadlines and Budgets are met.
- Market Research: Conduct market research to determine target audience’s needs, wants, habits, interests and other relevant factors used in creating targeted marketing campaigns.
- Manage social media: Coordinate posts and publication launches.
- Produce Company Documents: Develop or maintain product and company marketing information (decks, data sheets, videos, and other media)
- Think Ahead: Identify and fix small problems before they become big ones
- Perform other job duties as assigned.
Your Skills
Strong Communication Skills:
As a successful candidate, you will possess a strong interpersonal, communication, media, and technical intuition. You must be able to communicate with an engineer, a non-technical professional, and the general public, at the same time.
Technical Aptitude:
You will be supporting sales engineers selling highly technical products to other B2B engineering groups. As our business is highly technical you must have an aptitude for technical matters.
Teamwork:
You will have excellent social skills and enjoy working as part of a team. You will be able to give criticism respectfully and receive it constructively. Your sense of humor and work ethic are a big asset.
Adaptability and Initiative:
You will be fine working for periods of time with little supervision and are adept at researching existing solutions to problems you encounter. A wide range of tasks and changing responsibilities should excite you.
What you will need to succeed:
- Strong marketing and technical aptitude. Completion of a relevant post secondary program (Marketing, Engineering, etc)
- 2 years experience in a similar role, ideally for a company in the technology, robotics or manufacturing sectors.
- Attention to detail, excellent problem solving skills, excellent critical thinking, & the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Fundamental understanding of media creation, communications, and business
- Excellent problem solving skills & high attention to detail
- Excellent web search and data compilation skills
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills
- Excellent Computer proficiency; Windows, Word, Excel, etc
- Some knowledge of creative tools: Adobe CC, etc
- Enthusiasm for a start-up environment which includes multitasking, implementing new systems, and striving for a shared goal.
Bonus points if you:
- Can demonstrate previous project (personal, school, or work) experience in automation, robotics, VR, Film/TV production, Software development, or fabrication.
- Are familiar with the linear actuator market.
