Go Power! is seeking an Electromechanical Engineer for solar-powered products design, testing & troubleshooting

An industry leader in mobile power solutions and solar power for over 25 years, Go Power! delivers solar, inverter and battery systems to recreational vehicles and commercial passenger vehicles across North America. 

Our rapidly growing business in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia means we need to add to our engineering team. We are seeking an Electromechanical Engineer who will:

  • Design of new solar-powered generation products that achieve performance, reliability and cost requirements.
  • Prototyping and validation.
  • Design, develop and test mechanical designs using 3D CAD tools
  • Design, develop and test electronic cables/harnesses.
  • Final product qualification testing and documentation.
  • Troubleshooting, fault analysis and technical support for new designs and legacy products.
  • Contribute to and conceive process improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in the creation and maintenance of product configuration and bill-of-materials data.
  • Suggest/implement design improvements and cost reductions.
  • Responsible for corporate Quality documentation such as FAI's, PPAP, FMEA and PSW
  • Coordinates activities with outside contractors.
  • Examine, prepare and verify technical drawings and specifications of electrical systems, to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements.
  • Supporting sales with technical requirements.

And who brings the following:

  • Degree in Mechanical or Electromechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in an engineering/product development capacity
  • Knowledge of electrical power systems including batteries, converters, inverters and AC power, solar controllers, solar panels and wiring
  • Knowledge of Product Development and Manufacturing protocols and processes
  • Experience with hand tools and common diagnostic equipment
  • Strong project management skills
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a fast-paced, high volume workplace
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
