Introduction to Schneider Electric in Victoria, BC

Schneider Electric is excited to offer an opportunity to join our team in Victoria, BC Canada. In this role, you will help build the next generation of our Advanced Power Metering products such as the ION9000 and PM8000. Our team’s flagship product, the ION9000, won the 2021 Engineers' Choice award! Our Power meters are installed around the world and help organizations measure carbon emissions, reduce their energy consumption, and increase power reliability. Responsibilities & Position Overview

This position is suited to someone with previous firmware or software testing experience who is ready to grow themselves and help grow this skill within our team. The successful candidate will join a multi-disciplinary team and will collaborate with our group of developers, testers, and Professional Engineers. They will work in an agile development model and support us in our journey to leverage continuous delivery and integration practices in the embedded product space. Within this role, there are also professional training, personal growth, and mentorship opportunities available.

The successful candidate will take an active role in applying best practices to our product testing. They will collaborate with the team to identify challenges, refine our processes, and influence and guide others. They will also contribute to our advanced metering product development and releases including feature design and verification, automating tests via Python, and building our DevOps environment to support overall team effectiveness. 

Job Description & Responsibilities

  • Be a collaborative member of a multi-disciplinary agile team that includes developers, testers, product owners, scrum masters, and others
  • Contribute to delivering firmware and hardware releases for our products
  • Guide our efforts to develop effective test strategies and plans
  • Identify improvement and efficiency opportunities and support the team through implementation
  • Keep a pulse on industry best practices and opportunities to apply them within our group
  • Design, implement, and execute product and system tests


  • Degree in Engineering or Computer Science (or relevant experience)
  • Background in firmware or software testing
  • Previous coding experience
  • Knowledge and/or experience with CI/CD concepts
  • Experience working in an agile environment is a plus
