Alacrity Canada is actively seeking a vibrant and organized individual to join the team as Financial Analyst (Business Development). This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative program working with the Alacrity Canada team in Victoria, BC. 

About the Marketing Growth Program:

The Marketing Growth Program is a newly launched initiative that will aim to bolster the existing program activities that have been a part of the Alacrity Portfolio for the last decade. This program will ensure startup businesses with growth potential have access to funding to increase their sales as well as provide direct expert digital marketing business advice to entrepreneurs.

About the Role:

The Financial Analyst (Business Development) will report to the Managing Director of Alacrity Canada. The role is responsible for researching and developing marketing and sales opportunities and planning and implementing new strategies to engage with the startup businesses looking to scale up digitally. As well, the role will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing applicant’s financial performance against a plan, analyzing business performance and market conditions to create forecasts, and helping management make tactical and strategic decisions by providing periodic reports.

Activities will include but are not limited to providing up-to-date research and analysis reports to management. Creatively identify prospects and follow up on opportunities that are a fit for the program. Manage ongoing projects to completion while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders for positive outcomes.


  • Lead business development activities for the Program;
  • Keen interest in startups and technology ecosystem;
  • Think outside the box and have a creative solutions-based approach;
  • Oversee business development activities and ensure alignment with strategic plan and budget;
  • Take steps to create a Program plan and forecast for applicants;
  • Business outreach and communication plans are developed and implemented:
  • Collaborate with team to create a budget, processes and systems;
  • Provide regular reports to the management team;
  • Research, review and attend conferences related to business development activities;
  • Oversee the design and delivery of all advertising and marketing materials;
  • Ensure consistent adherence to brand standards;
  • Any additional duties assigned.


  • Relevant Business or Finance degree and/or significant industry experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Business Development.
  • Experience with reviewing and analyzing financial reports and documents.
  • Proficient at understanding small business (startup) needs. 
  • Advanced time management and analytical skills.
  • Excellent client-facing communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of GSuite and Office software.
  • Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline.

This position is a Full-Time role (40 hours per week). Compensation will be dependent on experience.
