Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and testing of avionics hardware.

A typical day includes:

    Work with hardware engineers, embedded software engineers and Transport Canada delegates to develop and verify hardware designs for new avionics products

    Maintenance of existing product designs, including feature enhancements and component obsolescence

    Creation of documentation to support design capture, production and certification activities

    Change impact analysis for regulatory compliance

    Providing input to project scheduling and budgeting estimates and tracking deliverable status


    A highly motivated self-starter

    Ability to interact with a variety of stakeholders, providing technical leadership

    Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills

    Exceptional attention to detail

    Proven technical and creative problem-solving skills


    Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent in a relevant discipline

    Professional Engineer Designation or Eligibility (EIT)

    Strong knowledge and experience in the design and development of hardware systems, schematic design, printed circuit board layout, generation of drawing packages, validation, and/or design for manufacturing

    Experience with requirements capture, product development, production transfer, manufacturing processes, and/or other relevant hardware skills

    Team Lead or Project Management experience

    BONUS: CAD experience in Altium, Solidworks; embedded software design and implementation; knowledge of aerospace standards; protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, USB, etc.); knowledge of wireless protocols (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular); experience in: RF, DSP, Satcom (eg. Iridium, GPS), FCC/IC/CE compliance
