Codename Entertainment is an award-winning video game studio located in Victoria, BC with a passionate group of gamers who love making games and having fun in the process!  We stream 30+ hours of content on Twitch each week, showcasing our games and creating an engaging and positive community for our players.


We are currently questing for a friendly and talented hero to join our team as a Junior Player Support Rep.  As a Junior Player Support Rep you’ll represent Codename by providing our players with customer support, addressing their concerns, and creating a positive player experience.  This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to build their career and help shape our player community with an employer who likes having fun and playing games!


About the Opportunity


Work Schedule

This role is a permanent, full-time role working Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week available starting April 3, 2023.


Work Location

This role works onsite at our office in Victoria, BC.  Opportunities for hybrid or remote work may become available depending on the candidate.


Responsibilities:


As a Junior Player Support Rep, your mission will be to create a positive experience for our players by:

  • Answering customer support tickets and emails from our players in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Resolving and troubleshooting technical issues where possible and escalating complex issues to the development team.
  • Informing the development team of known customer service issues and bug reports.
  • Assisting the development team in maintaining a list of reported bugs based on severity, priority, and frequency.
  • Responding to player reviews on game platforms to address and resolve technical issues where possible.

  • You’re an excellent communicator - you have a strong understanding of the English language and can write with tact and poise.
  • You’re professional and able to resolve conflict - you can anticipate problems and de-escalate them to maintain a positive player experience.
  • You’re detail-oriented - you have a keen eye for detail, which helps you ensure that player reported concerns are thoroughly investigated and addressed.
  • You’re able to work in a fast-paced environment - you can manage multiple priorities efficiently while ensuring that players receive prompt responses.
  • You’re resourceful - you can work independently, solve problems in the moment, and know when to seek additional help.
  • You’re passionate about games!  You have a deep knowledge of video games and geek culture.  (Bonus points if you play Dungeons & Dragons or have played one of our games!)

Compensation & Benefits


If you’re the successful incumbent in this role, you’ll be rewarded with the following:

  • Starting Salary between $40,000 to $45,000 Canadian dollars based on experience.
  • Employer paid health benefits are available after a 3-month waiting period including extended health and dental, employee & family assistance program, life insurance, and accidental death and dismemberment insurance.
  • Paid time off including 3 weeks of vacation upon hire, 4 weeks of vacation after a year of employment, and paid sick and personal time.
