The People & Talent Specialist (Sr. HR Specialist) in Victoria, BC will be responsible for overseeing human resources activities, providing business support, maintaining engagement, and delivering HR activities locally.
What you’ll do
You’ll work with HR professionals globally, ensuring alignment with global processes and policies. In doing so, you’ll carry out key people processes with accuracy including, but not limited to: objective setting, performance review process, and talent review.
You’ll always have top talent top of mind. You will work closely with the Americas Talent Aquisition to source the best talent for SMB North America.
You will oversee the employee engagement survey process locally; reminding employees to take the survey, analyzing the results, and brainstorming/implementing actions for follow up as a result of the survey.
You will drive diversity and inclusion within the local Bambora SMB North America business.
You will oversee administrative and engagement related tasks performed by the Office & Culture Coordinator. Within this scope, you will work alongside the Office & Culture Coordinator to maintain 100% data accuracy in all systems, and 100% compliance with Group and local policy sign offs. You’ll also work with the Office & Culture Coordinator to ensure smooth onboarding and offboarding experiences for all employees.
You will oversee the function of benefits administration and participate in annual renewal of benefits and RSP plans.
You will be the in-house expert on OH&S and engagement; you’ll oversee the Health & Safety Committee, as well as the Social Committee.
You will provide support to Managers and Leadership Team members on issues pertaining to performance, and engagement. As part of this, you’ll work with Managers to implement Performance Improvement Plans, and administer accommodations and leaves for employees when necessary.
Who you are
You have a degree in human resource management or similar.
You have between 2-3 years of HR experience. Bonus points if you have experience in a high-tech environment.
You have an excellent knowledge of employment law Canada wide; specifically British Columbia.
You have experience working with leaves, performance management, and accommodations in BC/Canada.
You have experience conducting full cycle recruitment efforts and know the importance of talent acquisition in our modern organizations.
You have a passion for diversity and inclusion. You’re ready to make this an area of focus and are truly interested in fostering more inclusive and diverse workplaces.
You have a natural aptitude towards coaching. You’re always there for people, and you’ve been noticed for it in the past.
You’re a self-starter, with sky high levels of initiative and motivation.
Please note: due to COVID-19 all Bamborians have the option of working remotely. We are currently in a phased return to the office, and employees are permitted, if they/their Manager desire, to return to working in the physical office. In the coming months we will look to have more Bamborians return to the office as we adjust to our "new normal". This is not a permanently remote position.
