BC Assessment is currently looking for a permanent Security Analyst to join the ITS team. This exciting role will monitor the security infrastructure of the organizations’ networks, identifies and triages events that need action and hands off to appropriate parties. Processes service orders for clients including requests for changes to access controls, provisioning of services.

How can I be successful?

You need to have experience within information technology and possess knowledge and skill in the following key areas:

  • Developing security solutions in collaboration with IT professionals.
  • Monitoring network security infrastructure for security related events and follow triage process to assess cause and appropriate response.
  • Using a wide range of methodologies, equipment and practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to refer to policies and guidelines, identify options and develop a course of action. 

We are looking for someone who is passionate and knowledgeable in security issues, latest technologies and is willing to share their guidance to others. You need to be able to work both independently and within a team environment to develop security solutions. This role matters and we are looking for someone who cares, and wants to be part of something awesome!

This position is included in the bargaining unit.  BC Assessment intends to establish an eligibility list for this competition.  

Location: Victoria, BC - Uptown

Compensation: $57,215.06– $67,311.61

Competition Close Date: Sunday, August 14th @ 11:59PM


What do I need to have?


  • Degree, diploma, certification in a related field.
  • Security & IT related qualifications.


  • Experience in applying and interpreting information technology security and administrative policies and procedures and developing client specific guidelines and best practices.
  • 2 years’ experience working at an analyst level in a network or security environment with security administrative privileges.

Note: An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
