Your Role:

As a Senior Hardware Engineer at Quester Tangent, you will oversee the design, development, and implementation of advanced hardware systems and components. Your technical expertise will be central to developing integrated solutions that seamlessly combine hardware and software, working closely with a multidisciplinary team. In this position, you'll collaborate with other department leads to ensure the reliable delivery of high-quality products to our clients. Your role also includes mentoring junior engineers, fostering an environment of knowledge-sharing and technical growth. Your leadership will contribute to maintaining our high standards and driving continuous improvement. How You Will Spend Your Time:

  • Supervise a team of hardware, software, and test engineers, providing guidance, training, and support.
  • Supervise multiple product developments simultaneously, ensuring that deadlines and milestones are met.
  • Collaborate with the Hardware Engineering leadership team on team alignment, as well as personnel and process improvements.
  • Oversee development teams to ensure that hardware is designed, tested, and delivered according to organizational requirements and quality standards.
  • Plan, estimate, manage budgets, and schedule development targets spanning multiple quarters.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of detailed documentation for hardware designs, processes, and test procedures.
  • Participate in hardware product architectural design, detailed design, requirements analysis and management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, mechanical engineers, and product owners, to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software components.
  • Evaluate and select components, materials, and suppliers to optimize product performance and cost-efficiency.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Work with other teams to remove impediments from the development team.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the team.
  • Support other team members when issues arise during development, production, or in the field, and assist with problem-solving as required.

What You Will Need to Succeed:

  • Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to effectively interact and communicate with executive management.
  • Strong knowledge of hardware and software system architecture.
  • Strong proficiency in electrical design software and tools, such as Altium Designer, SPICE, or equivalent.
  • In-depth knowledge of digital and analog circuit design, embedded systems, and power electronics.
  • In-depth knowledge of hardware design and testing for EMI/EMC compliance.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex hardware issues.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations, such as IEC, EN, and IEEE.

Experiences That Will Help You Thrive:

  • A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in hardware engineering, with a focus on design and development, and at least three (3) years of team leadership experience.
  • Experience in hardware product development planning.
  • Experience in creating hardware architectures by working with product owners and stakeholders.
  • Experience in creating and presenting product development presentations for review by the engineering leadership team.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 per year, commensurate with experience
