As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will drive the infrastructure and the continuous delivery of secure and highly available computing platforms, servers, and other services. You will navigate changes as necessary to support BCI operations, and you will collaborate and communicate with members of cross-functional teams in an Agile hybrid environment.

This work can be done from our Victoria or Vancouver office location, with travel between the two cities (paid for by BCI).
WHAT YOU BRING:
Bachelor’s degree, technical diploma or equivalent experience in Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
A minimum of 5 years of experience in technical roles, focused on information security processes, products, and projects
Advanced knowledge and a keen interest to learn secure systems engineering
Experience with securing cloud environments (MS Azure)
Must have excellent customer-service, listening, communication and problem-solving skills
Must be able to assist with the implementation of programs and solutions to measure and sustain the security posture of large complex environments
Experience with Agile methods (Scrum) and DevOps practices
Professional certifications such as Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) or equivalent experience is a definite asset.

Leadership role in technical roadmap planning, development, and implementation
Conducts research on infrastructure products, services, and standards in support of secure network design including task automation and platform best practices
Develops, implements, and maintains policies and procedures for infrastructure operations
Oversees the installation, configuration, upgrades, and maintenance of infrastructure components and provides day-to-day operational support of network infrastructure
Primary responsibility for ensuring optimal performance of infrastructure, servers and services across multiple BCI office locations
Diagnoses and resolves both routine and complex infrastructure problems through effective root cause analysis
Recommends, develops, and implements actions plans and solutions which either solve customer problems a result in continuous improvements to the BCI networking infrastructure
Provides expert input to the development of an infrastructure disaster recovery plan for BCI
Monitors and tests system performance and provides performance statistics and reports
Leads, schedules and/or performs infrastructure improvements, upgrades, and repairs
Interacts with multiple vendors, suppliers and contractors for network products and services
Able to accurately assess vendor and supplier services and performance to ensure that BCI receives excellent value for money spent
Participates in the development of service level agreements with vendors and end users
Ensures technical artifacts are accurate, accessible, maintained and communicated
BCI’s Technology department plans, provides, maintains, and supports business applications and information technology infrastructure. The Technology department is foundational to BCI - working as a strategic partner to provide technology that supports investment processes and all other business activities.
