This is a temporary opportunity until Feb 29, 2024. This temporary appointment may be extended or may become permanent.

Due to the nature of this position, in-office presence is required, however we offer flexible work arrangements, including the opportunity to volunteer to telework (with conditions) as set out in applicable employer policies.  For this position, as per current telework agreement, remote working is available up to two days per week.


Senior Project Manager

$72,724.97 - $83,014.85 annually plus 9.9% Temporary Market Adjustment

The Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch works to protect public safety and minimize the health and social harms of alcohol and non-medical cannabis. The Branch issues licences in B.C. for making and selling liquor and for selling and marketing non-medical cannabis. 

The Senior Project Manager manages the development, implementation and evaluation of major projects, and plan and manage ongoing business and technology needs consistent with government, ministry, and branch strategic plans, system standards and interfacing requirements. Projects are taken from original concept through to final completion in accordance with project management standards, applying Agile or waterfall methodologies.


Qualifications for this role include:

    A degree in computer science, business administration, public administration, or another related field.

    PLUS, two years’ experience managing multiple projects or leading a component (e.g., sub-project) of a major project or regional initiative.

     AND experience in each of the following:

o    IM/IT planning and development, including business transformational/alignment projects. 

o    managing project teams and/or directing the work of contracted and staff resources. 

o    managing relationships with senior level stakeholders. 

o    change management best practices, including conflict and dispute resolution principles and practices.

    An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
