The Role 

Reporting directly to the Manager of Infrastructure, Hosting and Cloud Services, the role of the Senior Systems Administrator is to support all aspects of the IT Infrastructure and to provide mentorship, guidance & oversight in all aspects of IT support, deployments, & maintenance.  The Senior Systems Administrator will serve as a technical expert and advisor to Business Information Systems Leadership. 

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Overseeing the administration and maintenance of multi-office core, edge and cloud, LAN/WAN networking and security;
  • Managing backup, recovery and DR methods and strategies for all core infrastructure and data;
  • Developing and maintaining life Cycle refresh planning;
  • Monitoring and addressing system performance, system operations and storage capacity and utilization;
  • Forecasting and planning for system growth and development;
  • Overseeing administration of accounts and account access and assignment of security permissions on the network;
  • Supporting escalated Tier 2 & 3 help desk requests and back filling Tier 1 helpdesk as needed; 
  • Assisting with the development of documentation related to infrastructure, policy/procedures, education and training; and
  • Mentoring and training team members and end users. 

Required Skills and Experience 

  • Undergraduate degree in Information Technology (or equivalent);
  • 5+ years of related Systems Administrative experience in an enterprise environment;
  • Experience with Windows Domain Administrator and Windows Server (2012, 2016, 2019) and Windows 10;
  • Experience with Windows Services: DHCP, DNS, IIS, FTP, etc.;
  • Strong understanding of L2/L3/LAN/WAN/Cloud networking & topology;
  • Experience with Security Admin (Network, Server, Patching, Firewall) and O365 Administration (OneDrive, Sharepoint,  Office 365, Azure AAD);
  • Working understanding of program languages such as powershell is preferred but not required
  • Class 5 Driver’s License;
  • Exceptional investigative skills and the effectively problem solve;  
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities;
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities; and
  • Self motivated with the ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently.
