Position Summary

Employees of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia (Assembly) provide professional non-partisan services to support the democratic institution of Parliament and its members through procedural advice, administrative support and information services. The Assembly is an autonomous employer, separate from the administrative framework of B.C. government ministries and agencies.

The Information Technology department is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced individual for the regular full-time position of Senior Technical Analyst, Desktop.

Reporting to the Manager, IT Operations, the Senior Technical Analyst, Desktop is responsible for providing planning, configuration, installation, integration, time-critical problem analysis, administration, security, and technical support for all Legislative Assembly owned desktops, laptops, peripherals, and mobile devices located throughout the province. This position will lead projects and contribute to a variety of planning initiatives.

Qualifications

Applicants must have a university degree or technical diploma in Computer Science with five or more years’ computer support experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. They must also have experience installing, testing, and maintaining desktop, laptop and mobile hardware and software, and experience with Microsoft Windows based environments.
