The messaging service provides emails services to core BC government users as well as broader public sector entities.
As the Solutions Architect, you will be responsible for the design and build of this enterprise level service. In the role, you will also provide technical leadership and guidance to a technical team in the support of this service. Additionally, you will be providing the following functions: expertise in the integration with other applications, leading the resolution of major technical issues, overseeing project management and developing roadmaps that align with corporate goals. Qualifications for this role include:
Degree, diploma, certification in the computer science field or equivalent; OR a minimum combination of 5 years’ education, training and experience may be considered.
Experience with Microsoft Messaging Services On-Premises and Cloud technologies (for example including Integration of other services such as: SharePoint, Office 365, Skype for Business, Exchange 2013, 2016 and Exchange Online, Azure, Infrastructure as a Service, Software as a Service).
Experience in planning, development, and testing of new technical solutions.
Experience in researching and evaluating all facets of technology architecture and new technologies.
Experience using Microsoft Technologies such as ASP.net, Visual Basic.net (VB), C#; Windows data centre technologies, Structured Query Language (SQL) server, ADO.Net.
Experience in writing technical and business documentation such as, technical design documents, architecture diagrams and technical roadmaps.
Experience in IT change management processes.
Preference may be given to applicants with one (1) or more of the following:
Seven (7) or more years’ experience with IM/IT operations.
Three (3) or more years' working experience in all aspects of application development using a System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Two (2) or more years working experience using project management methodology and IT change management processes.
