Support all aspects of the IT Infrastructure under the guidance and direction of the Senior Systems Administrator

The Role 

Reporting directly to the Manager of Infrastructure, Hosting and Cloud Services, the role of the Systems Administrator is to support all aspects of the IT Infrastructure under the guidance and direction of the Senior Systems Administrator.  The Systems Administrator will serve as a technical advisor to the BIS Infrastructure Team and demonstrate ownership of the BIS infrastructure.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

    Supporting the administration and maintenance of multi-office core, edge and cloud, LAN/WAN networking and security;

    Administration of backup, recovery, DRaaS methods and strategies for all core infrastructure and data;

    Assisting with the developing and maintaining of life cycle refresh planning;

    Monitoring and addressing system performance, system operations and storage capacity and utilization;

    Forecasting, planning and deployment of system growth and development;

    Support project execution through planning, management, and direct implementation activities; 

    Administration of accounts and account access and assignment of security permissions on the network;

    Supporting escalated Tier 2 & 3 help desk requests and back filling Tier 1 helpdesk as needed; 

    Assisting with the development of documentation related to infrastructure, policy/procedures, education, and training; and

    Mentoring and training team members and end users in all aspects of the infrastructure.

Required Skills and Experience 

>    Diploma in Information Technology (or equivalent)

>    1 - 2 years of related Technical and/or Systems Administrative experience in an enterprise environment

>    Experience with Windows Domain Administrator and Windows Server (2012, 2016, 2019, 2022) and Windows 10/11;

>    Experience with Windows Services: DHCP, DNS, IIS, FTP, etc.;

>    Applied understanding of L2/L3/LAN/WAN/Cloud networking & topology;

>    Experience with Security Admin (Network, Server, Patching, Firewall) and O365 Administration (OneDrive, SharePoint, Office 365, Azure AAD);

>    Working understanding of program languages such as PowerShell (hands on experience preferred)

>    Project leadership guiding a team through planning, implementation & successful project completion

>    Class 5 Driver’s License;

>    Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends as required;

>    Strong investigative skills and the ability to effectively problem solve;  

>    Strong communication, and interpersonal skills;

>    Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities; and

>    Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently
