Job Description:  

We are looking to hire a dynamic individual who can apply their technical skills to solve individual clients' unique problems using our software. This position requires the skills of a developer to be used in a forward-facing way through interactions with our clients to solve their unique challenges and different problems. From time to time, this may require you to act as a business analyst for our clients to help them find the best fit between software and process. In addition, you will be required to troubleshoot, debug, customize, implement, and possibly re-design/re-develop complex solutions. 

We are open to this being a full-time remote position within North America, with the possibility of a transition into a hybrid work environment in Victoria, BC, Canada in the future, if desired. 

Responsibilities:

    Assist our customers with implementing, customizing, troubleshooting, and maintaining our enterprise software solutions

    Monitor incoming customer support inquiries and resolve on a priority basis

    Develop custom solutions for clients within the FAST framework

    Champion improvements or fixes to our products based on client feedback

    Implement and resolve code changes to baseline repositories

    Test and close off tickets as part of the software release cycle


Required Skills and Experience:

    Have a degree or certificate from a software-related program and 1 to 3 years related job experience

    Technical experience building and/or supporting database-driven web-based applications

    Knowledge of SQL and Oracle PL/SQL

    Exposure to web technologies (ex. HTML, XML, JavaScript, Web Services, CSS, jQuery, etc)

    Experience working in software development, dev-ops, and/or technical analyst role

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including sound judgment about when, how, what and to whom to communicate

    Outstanding interpersonal skills for the purpose of building client relationships and leading clients to desired outcomes

    Strong business ethics, personal organization, and trustworthiness

    Attention to detail

    Ability to multi-task on a small team with minimal supervision, wearing multiple hats if necessary

    You learn quickly when facing new problems and are open to change


Nice to Have Experience:

    Experience with Higher Education systems, such as FAST, Banner or PeopleSoft

    Experience with TOAD for Oracle, or SQL Developer

    Exposure to ASP.NET and Visual Studio

    Experience with Azure DevOps

    Comfortable working with version control systems including GIT and Source Gear Vault

    Knowledge of software development lifecycle processes
