KIXEYE is seeking an UX/UI Artist to work on new mobile games that we’re developing in our Victoria, BC headquarters.

You’ll be tasked with designing and creating UX/UI assets based off of wireframes/flows created by our team for smartphone and tablet games, as well as creating innovative new ways of interacting with handheld devices. We'll be looking to you to push the boundaries of what can and should be done to make player interactions with our games better and more fun than anything that's been done before.

What you get to do everyday:

  • Work with UX designers to validate mobile flows before implementation of designs
  • Propose and implement clever solutions to user interaction challenges on smaller touchscreen devices
  • Develop new art styles for upcoming project
  • Work closely with the Art Director, Engineering team, Product Managers and Producers to develop a high quality UX/UI for our mobile products
  • Create art in Illustrator or Photoshop for a variety of tablet and phone devices

What you bring to the role:

  • 2+ years experience creating innovative UI for mobile products; 4+ years of experience creating other types of interactive UX/UI
  • Unity experience
  • Strong understanding of UI and usability principles
  • Design portfolio of previous UI work and mobile projects
  • Aware of current trends in mobile and game UI designs
  • Strong graphic design skills, particularly in iconography creation, typography, HUD elements, and screen layouts
  • Strong artistic sense with a focus on creating simple, user-centered experiences
  • Advanced experience Photoshop and Illustrator required
  • Knowledge of Apple and Google UI Human Interface Guidelines - you've read the documentation and understand what is possible, while always continuing to push on the boundaries
  • Ability to iterate quickly in a demanding environment
  • Experience taking features from concept to final in-game art
  • Excellent communication with product and engineering teams
  • Self-motivated worker with ability to prioritize and manage workload to meet critical project deadlines
  • Passion for games is a must
