The British Columbia Construction Association (BCCA) represents over 10,000 employers in BC’s vibrant and vital construction industry. Employing over 205,000 BC residents with $112 Billion in projects province wide, the BCCA plays an important role in advocating on behalf of this resilient and productive sector that has kept operating as an essential service during the COVID-19 pandemic.
We create and oversee valuable industry programs and services, such as Bid Central, BC’s largest online construction bidding marketplace; and the Builders Code, a leading-edge workplace culture initiative in the dynamic stages of its rollout and growth, STEP, and BCCA IN, to name a few.
The successful candidate will be an important, and key contributing member of the BCCA Marketing team, augmenting the BCCA’s marketing efforts through their responsibilities which will include: Overseeing and maintaining all of the BCCA’s brand and web assets, executing digital marketing tactics, design and production of print and merchandise materials. These efforts will focus on the BCCA and its multiple employer/employee programs and services. With a varying suite of programs and digital assets, including apps, this role offers the challenge and reward of managing several brands of differing tone and uniting them together under an overarching umbrella.
Who you are
You are an experienced and creative web developer who is self-motivated, extremely resourceful, and well versed in back-end web development, front-end UI/UX web design, and various digital as well as traditional marketing tactics. You possess the technical aptitude and resourceful troubleshooting skills necessary to maintain optimal functionality and security protocols across all BCCA program websites. You are a team player and enjoy working in a collaborative, creative, fast-paced, solutions-based environment.
Ongoing monthly maintenance of BCCA and BCCA program websites, including: managing plugins, CMS security updates, and PHP updates, in a WordPress / Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment
Managing SSL certificate maintenance across all BCCA web domains via Let’s Encrypt.
Implement new design and content update requests and requirements across all web assets
Monitoring and maintaining data capture tools, and application databases
Fulfill design requests for web, email, social media, print and merchandise items
Oversee adherence to brand standards guidelines
Assist with digital campaigns including Mailchimp email campaigns, social media (organic and paid), Google AdWords, etc.
Manage SEO strategy across BCCA Web Assets
Reporting out of Google Analytics, HubSpot CRM, and MS Access DB
Experience working with and building sites on WordPress and CMS Platforms
Experiencing deploying websites and/or web applications across cloud providers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Solid grasp of security principles and how they apply to websites and web applications, including hands on experience installing SSL certificates
Experience working with relational and non-relational databases, such as Postgres, MySQL, or MongoDB
Digital design skills and experience working in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, etc.) strongly preferred
Experience in planning and delivering software platforms used across multiple products and organizational units
Exceptional digital / technology acumen
