Ready to make a difference? Join the VIATEC Board of Directors. We’re looking for passionate leaders to bring their expertise, vision, and talent to the table.


VIATEC is officially opening nominations July 1st for our Board of Directors for the 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM)

We are incredibly fortunate to have an active, engaged membership reflected in our 14-seat board. To ensure a balanced representation of our community, 10 seats are reserved for Technology company representatives, while the remaining four are open to all VIATEC members who meet our criteria.

This year, we are looking to fill seven (7) board seats

VIATEC is dedicated to enhancing equity and diversity within our local tech sector and creating an inclusive environment for all. We celebrate diversity and encourage members who reflect this priority to express their interest in becoming a board member.

Qualifications & Expectations to Serve as a Director

To serve as a Director of VIATEC, a person must:

1. Be a VIATEC member in good standing and at least 18 years of age.

2. In order for a person to be elected to the Board they must, at the time of their election, have been, or be representing an entity that has been, an active member of VIATEC for at least the past 12 months and maintain an active membership throughout their term of office.
3. Review all materials sent out in advance of monthly Board meetings and attend meetings as often as possible (75% attendance required).
4. May or may not participate in at least one board committee (75% attendance required):

  • Finance & Audit
  • Governance

5. Some board members will be “point” on specific strategic goals.

6. Participate in the annual strategic planning process.

7. Whenever possible, attend VIATEC events (seminars, conferences)

How the Process Works

  1. Submit Your Form: Complete the VIATEC Board Nomination Form HERE. Nominations close Sept 2, 2026
  2. Candidate Meeting: All candidates will be contacted prior to the AGM for a meeting (in-person or via Zoom) to go through the VIATEC Board Q&A.
  3. Voting Ballot: Once your nomination form is submitted and vetted, your name will be added to the electronic voting ballot. Please note: No alterations can be made to your submission once electronic voting opens, your answers may be made public to voters.

VIATEC’s AGM will be held September 24, 2026 at 4:30 pm, Fort Tectoria – 777 Fort Street, networking to follow. AGM registration will open July 15, 2026.
