Canada Releases National AI Strategy: AI for All

The strategy reflects input from over 11,000 public submissions and is designed to evolve as the technology landscape changes.

The federal government has unveiled Canada's first National Artificial Intelligence Strategy, AI for All, built around the principles of trust, opportunity, and sovereignty.

Key commitments include increasing business AI adoption from 12% to 60% by 2034, creating up to 250,000 new jobs by 2031, and unlocking nearly $200 billion in GDP growth. Free AI literacy training will be made available to all Canadians, including 1 million post-secondary students.

On the investment side, highlights include a $500 million Canadian Tech Growth Fund to help scale domestic AI companies, $700 million in expanded compute access for SMEs, and a $200 million AI Missions Program starting with health outcomes. Canada also plans to build a world-leading public supercomputer and has co-launched the Sovereign Technology Alliance with Germany to advance shared AI infrastructure and standards among allied democracies.
