GoChip Animal Technology is the future of animal welfare.
New and innovative animal ID technology was recently showcased in Victoria at the Humane Canada Summit for Animals. The summit is the largest event of its kind in the country, bringing together animal welfare professionals and advocates from all across Canada.
As a sponsor of the summit, the team from Victoria-based GoChip Animal Technology hosted a popular Paws & Pours event that introduced their cutting-edge technology to an interested and engaged audience of animal welfare specialists. Alexander Von Kaldenberg, founder of GoChip Animal Technology, detailed the company’s software platform and the GoNano, a smartphone-readable ID chip alongside special guest Dr. Karlette Fernandes, Director of Companion Animal Management of Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS) and Mission Rabies in India.
Currently, GoChip is working with global partners, WVS, Mission Rabies, and Bali Animal Welfare Association, as well as local governments, on projects in Bali, Indonesia and Goa, India. GoChip’s innovative collar tag and software platform are being used to store and manage the IDs and medical information for thousands of free-roaming dogs to mitigate disease and improve the health and wellbeing of both the dogs and the communities in which they live.
A strategy to scale this technology is underway to help communities across the developing world and to collaborate with animal welfare organizations and governments to improve animal welfare in our own backyard, particularly communities in Northern Canada.
The GoChip team was truly honoured to be a part of Humane Canada’s incredible event and looks forward to being a part of the future of animal welfare in Canada and around the world.
And keep your eye out for GoChip’s new GoTag, an exciting consumer product that’s in the works. In addition to their work in animal welfare, the team is introducing a smart tag for pets, which combines modern connectivity methods such as QR, NFC, Bluetooth and Apple FindMy into one powerful product. It will include features such as a powerful pet pedometer, maps to track a dog’s walk or hiking route, a journal to save special memories and photos that will be shareable across most social media platforms, and so much more.
