Shift, the browser built for productivity, is announcing on World Environment Day that the company is officially carbon neutral through a new partnership with Synergy Enterprises and Carbonzero.

In celebration of World Environment Day (June 5th), Shift, the browser built for streamlining everything you do online, announces that the company is officially carbon neutral through a new partnership with Synergy Enterprises and Carbonzero. This marks a major milestone in Shift’s broader sustainability strategy as it aims to reduce its environmental impact while supporting cutting-edge carbon reduction and removal projects.

Through Synergy Enterprises, Shift will become a Climate Action Partner, aligning its operations with GHG accounting best practices, strategic planning, data tracking, and climate action in collaboration with expert advisors. In 2025, Shift is committed to supporting verified carbon offset initiatives, including:

  • The Great Bear Forest Carbon Project: preserving one of the world’s largest carbon sink rainforests while supporting Indigenous-led conservation.
  • Low-carbon cement solutions: reducing industrial emissions and advancing circular construction materials.

According to Shift’s CEO Neil Henderson: “It was an important decision for Shift to become a carbon neutral company as a necessary step in holding ourselves accountable for the carbon emissions that we produce. Browsers often act as the gateway to the digital world and our purpose at Shift has always been to empower people to make the most of their online life. Our team recognized that this mission would be impossible to achieve without consideration for the planet and ecosystems that our digital world exists within.”
