The CIX Canadian Innovation Exchange names Victoria startup, Solaires Entreprises, as one of the top early-stage startups in the country

The CIX Canadian Innovation Exchange recently named its annual list of the top early-stage and growth startups across the country. The companies represent a diverse range of technology spanning medtech, fintech, big data, security, marketing and cleantech sectors.

485 businesses were nominated this year, which is a record according to CIX executive director Lauren Linton. And from that pool, Solaires Entreprises, a lone B.C. startup based out of Victoria made the cut.

Helmed by CEO Fabian de La Fuente, Solaires is developing the next generation of solar cells. Victoria Tech Journal has previously showcased the startup as a top woman-led Victoria business, as its co-founder and chief science officer is Dr. Sahar Sam.

Solaires and the other selected organizations will soon present in person at the CIX Summit on November 1-2, in downtown Toronto. The audience will be over 700 investors, entrepreneurs and advisors in the North American technology ecosystem.

Previous B.C. firms recognized by the CIX include Clio, D-Wave, and UrtheCast.
