VIATEC Receives Federal Funding to Support High Potential Ventures in Greater Victoria
With this funding, VIATEC is launching BOOST which is designed to help high potential technology ventures implement high impact projects.
VIATEC is thrilled to announce it has been awarded $2.5 million in funding over three years from PacifiCan through the Business Acceleration Pilot (BizAP), which is a new initiative investing in organizations capable of helping high-growth-potential businesses achieve their scale up ambitions.
With this funding, VIATEC is launching BOOST which is designed to help high potential technology ventures implement high impact projects. BOOST is not just about funding—it’s about delivering meaningful, hands-on support that propels companies toward sustained growth.
We are ensuring that each participant receives deep, targeted mentorship and direct access to subject matter experts and investors. Our structured approach will include personalized growth plans and curated opportunities to expand into new markets. We will track real outcomes, from revenue increases to job creation, ensuring that BOOST is not only a successful initiative on paper but a transformational experience for its participants.
"Building on decades of past programs and projects, we have taken the lessons we learned supporting our local tech ecosystem and designed BOOST to directly support Greater Victoria’s highest potential ventures where they’ve determined they need it most.” said Dan Gunn, CEO, VIATEC.
“In addition to partially funding tailored projects within each qualifying venture, we will provide support in defining the project, finding and selecting suitable resources and defining and tracking outcomes that demonstrate the growth and impact for each participant.“
“The PacifiCan funding is vital in advancing our mission to support the next wave of technology-driven innovators in Greater Victoria who are addressing global challenges. With BizAP's support, we're helping tech-based ventures in the region achieve greater commercial success and contribute to the global innovation landscape." Gunn added.
“Through tailored programs like the Business Acceleration Pilot, PacifiCan is serving the unique needs of British Columbian entrepreneurs so that they can turn their ambition into reality,” said the Honourable Harjit S. Sajjan, Minister of Emergency Preparedness and Minister responsible for the Pacific Economic Development Agency of Canada (PacifiCan). “By partnering with organizations such as VIATEC, PacifiCan is helping B.C. businesses grow here at home and compete on a global stage.”
BOOST is now inviting high-potential ventures as well as world class service providers/subject matter experts to join the program’s waitlist. Interested parties are invited to visit the website for more information.
