About this event
(La version française suit le texte anglais.)
November 24th - 1:00 to 2:30pm EDT
Industry leaders will provide valuable insights and perspective on the journey to starting, building and growing business in Canada.
We’ll also share tips that may help Indigenous entrepreneurs identify the government and private sector programs and services that might be right for their business, at every step on the journey.
Our panel presentation will feature guests from the National Aboriginal Capital Corporations Association (NACCA) which is the parent association behind 50 Aboriginal Financial Institutions (AFI), the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB), and the Aboriginal Business Financing Directorate at Indigenous Services Canada. In addition, we will welcome Indigenous entrepreneurs Paul Giles and Melissa Hardy-Giles of Immersive Link in a fireside chat-style discussion led by Innovation Canada Senior Innovation Advisor Marc Appleby as they share their journey from start up to success.
A Q&A session with all panelists will wrap up this dynamic and informative discussion.
We’ll welcome:• Kevin Rose, National Aboriginal Capital Corporations Association
• Philip Ducharme or Paul-Emile McNab, Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business
• Paul Giles and Melissa Hardy-Giles of Immersive Link
• Marc Appleby, Senior Innovation Advisor with Innovation Canada• Christina McDonald, Marketing and Outreach Manager with Innovation Canada
Please note: This session will be conducted largely in English but material and resources will be made available in both official languages and participants should feel comfortable asking questions in the official language of their choice.
