The Vancouver Island Engineering Society is proud to host Dr. Yussuf Reza Esmaeili, CTO of AIGreening Solutions Inc., for an insightful session on leveraging artificial intelligence and remote sensing to combat the escalating threat of wildfires.
AIGreening Solutions Inc. is at the forefront of climate resilience, developing AI-powered tools that help communities, governments, and Indigenous partners anticipate and manage wildfire risk. Their platform integrates satellite imagery, environmental data, and localized field knowledge to generate high-accuracy early-warning predictions and operational guidance.
In this talk, Dr. Esmaeili will explore how AIGreening bridges the gap between high-tech analytics and traditional land stewardship. He will detail the development of decision-support tools for prescribed burns—grounded in Indigenous fire knowledge—and discuss the engineering challenges of scaling these pipelines from British Columbia to a global stage.
With a PhD in mechanical engineering and a background in robotics and automated manufacturing, Dr. Esmaeili brings a unique perspective on the intersection of intelligent systems and environmental protection.
