Event Overview
Join us for the Technology Capstone Showcase 2025, where graduates from Mechanical Engineering Technology, Interactive Media Developer (IMD), and Information and Computer Systems (ICS) will present their innovative final projects. This collaborative event highlights the creativity, technical skills, and problem-solving expertise of students across disciplines as they prepare for careers in industry.
Mechanical Engineering Technology Projects
Mechanical Engineering Technology students are showcasing practical solutions for industry and community. Highlights include an MRI simulator to help children undergo scans without sedation, a steam-powered robot to clean industrial kitchen ducts, and an improved grease trap system to protect sanitation lines. Other projects feature machinery for rolling large inflatables, manufacturing rustic split rail fences, automating beeswax candle dipping, and tools for pressing shower pucks and capping artisan perfume bottles.
Interactive Media Developer & Information and Computer Systems Projects
IMD and ICS students are presenting a diverse range of projects, from original games—including platformers, roguelites, survival horror, and narrative experiences exploring mental health—to AI solutions for pest identification and business chatbot integration. Teams also developed community and industry platforms for civic engagement, education, and alternative healing services, as well as mobile and scheduling apps supporting agriculture, temporary workers, and business operations.
In-Demand, Future-Ready Skills
Graduates enter one of Canada’s fastest-growing industries, with over 2.26 million professionals working in tech and engineering. Their skills span software and app development, games and interactive media, mechanical design and manufacturing, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and UX/UI design, preparing them to shape the future of technology and innovation.
