Exploring Cap Table Optimization for Founders - from Startup to Exit
Tuesday, October 8, 2024 (4:00 PM - 6:00 PM) (PDT)
Description
We invite Founders and Tech Executives to join us for a workshop that will explore how a capitalization table evolves throughout the lifecycle of a venture. A team of experts from Osler and CIBC will guide you through a dynamic case study, tracing the journey of an early-stage startup led by co-founders as it navigates multiple rounds of debt and equity financing, culminating in a successful exit.
During this session, you will gain a deeper understanding of:
- The fundamentals of cap tables
- Types of financing rounds and their impact on your cap table
- Contemplating an exit – exploring different types (strategic, PE, or IPO) and the process involved
- Understanding the exit waterfall
- Avoiding common mistakes in the context of cap tables
Participants will come away equipped with the knowledge to make strategic decisions that optimize your venture’s cap table and position it for success.
Presenters Include:
- Mark Longo, Partner, Emerging & High Growth Companies at Osler
- Daniel Lee, Managing Director, Investment Banking - Technology & Innovation Sectors at CIBC
