Unity® in Interactive Storytelling for Creative Technology

Unity® in Interactive Storytelling for Creative Technology

Monday, June 6, 2022 12:00 AM - Friday, July 22, 2022 11:00 PM (PDT)

Description

British Columbia’s creative technology sector—which includes video games, visual effects (VFX), animation, and extended reality (XR)—is rapidly becoming a significant source of high-quality, in-demand employment for the province. The Unity in Interactive Storytelling for Creative Technology (ISCT) program quickly provides learners with in-demand skills and competencies to support employment in the creative technology sector. It introduces learners to real-time interactive 2D and 3D essentials and fundamentals for building virtual experiences through the Unity platform, and prepares graduates for optional Unity certification to enhance their career paths.

This micro-credential program will introduce and explain the technologies that make interactive projects possible and walk learners through creating 2D and  3D apps and projects, focusing on Unity. ISCT is an industry-relevant micro-credential delivered over six weeks, and blends bootcamp-style online synchronous (real-time) teaching with asynchronous learning activities, assignments and resources.

Through the ISCT program, we are committed to reducing barriers and committed to training those from backgrounds that are different or underrepresented in the technology sector. As such, tuition subsidies may be available to participants in British Columbia who self-identify as part of a group underrepresented in the technology sector who are willing to participate in pre- and post-program surveys to evaluate the program for its relevance and inclusivity.
