AI in Action
The UVic Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science, in collaboration with VIATEC, invites you to join us for an exciting event where Artificial Intelligence takes center stage! Discover how researchers and local industry are using AI, the challenges they see in the field and what the future might hold. The event will be held in person at 777 Fort Street, Victoria, BC, Canada; Doors open at 5PM.
The main event will be a moderated panel discussion, followed by open networking. Light fare will be provided.
Our panelists include:
- Dr. Alexandra Branzan-Albu, Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UVic, using AI in computer aided vision/image analysis.
- Dr. George Tzanetakis, Professor of Computer Science at UVic, using AI in the analysis of audio and music signals.
- Dr. Waleed Youssef, Adjunct Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering at UVic and CEO/CSO/Founder of MESC Labs, using AI in medical imaging.
- Todd Charter, Co-Founder, President &CTO of Cognia AI, a software service and R&D support provider specializing in industrial AI and extended reality (XR).
- Faizan Ali Khan, Founder & CEO of LetHub, using AI to streamline the leasing process.
