ABOUT THE ROLE

The Regional District of Nanaimo has an employment opportunity for Business Solutions Specialist in the Information Services and GIS Department.

Reporting to the IT Project Manager, the Business Solutions Specialist performs technology project management, business analysis, integration development and sustainment, reporting and business intelligence.

This role has an organization-wide impact, assisting internal clients with business process review and gap analysis, improving the quality and efficiency of corporate decision-making through data integrations, business intelligence and reporting, and ensuring operational effectiveness through optimal Implementation, improvement, and sustainment of enterprise business systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

Completion of a post-secondary degree in computer science, information systems or related field.  Three (3) years of professional experience in business solutions sustainment. Training in business analysis, project management, change management, and technical platforms, with certification considered an asset. Demonstrated skills in planning, implementing, configuring, sustaining, and improving business applications and services.

POSITION DETAILS

This is a permanent full-time Union position (35 hours per week). The (2024) rate of pay is $40.97 to $43.06 per hour. The position offers an attractive benefits package as provided within the Collective Agreement between the Regional District of Nanaimo and the Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 401.
