Full Stack Developer (Front-End Focused) with Django Experience

Location: Victoria, BC, Canada / Remote

The Role: 

We are seeking a Full Stack Developer with a strong emphasis on front-end development to join our team. We need a person who can take on the startup environment to build out interactive analytical user interfaces, working directly with our in-house media buyers. Yes, we eat our own dog-food daily. We are at an exciting time in the company where we have built our first generation platform and are now focusing on an improved user experience with improved workflows, responsiveness, and usability. The person taking on this role will have a lot of impact on technology choices and future direction.

The role is currently set up as a long term contract position where you will be fully integrated with the team. 

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop high-quality, user-centric web applications with a focus on front-end development.
• Scope out project requirements and workflows, collaborating closely with the team to ensure alignment with business goals.
• Work directly with users to understand their pain points and develop a vision for improvements.
• Ability to jump in and build pieces of our product’s Django REST API.
• Establishing and improving front-end testing practices.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer, with a strong portfolio showcasing front-end expertise and several years of experience.
• Expertise with modern web application technologies and best practices.
• Experience with Python and Django for backend development is highly desirable.
• Ability to design and scope project requirements, workflows, and user interfaces.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, creativity, and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
• Willingness to adopt the startup attitude and work on what needs done today.
• Undergraduate degree in CS, Engineering and other equivalents is a plus but not required.
