FLT designs and manufactures outdoor lighting for public places such as walkways, parks, and parking lots. Our solar lighting products don’t require a connection to the grid, saving time, money and energy. And because of our proprietary technology, FLT’s lights work right out of the box, producing reliable, quality light all night, every night.

The role 
We are seeking a detail-oriented 
Procurement & NPI (New Product Introduction) Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, coordinating new product launches, and ensuring efficient procurement processes.

Employment Type: Full-time permanent employee
Location: Hybrid (3 days a week at our Victoria office, 2 days remote)
Hours: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week  
Reports to: Operations Manager


What 
you’ll do
 

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Lead procurement activities for new product introductions, including: component sourcing, cost negotiations, sample management and timeline coordination 

- Create and maintain accurate BOMs (Bills of Materials)
- Analyze market trends and component availability 

- Monitor and report on supplier performance metrics 

- Coordinate with engineering teams during product development phases 

- Manage inventory levels and optimize procurement strategies 

- Support continuous improvement initiatives in the procurement process 


What you bring 
 

- 3+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain management 

- Experience with NPI processes and product lifecycle management 

- Strong understanding of mechanical components and manufacturing processes 

- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings 

- Proficiency in ERP systems (including Netsuite) and Office 365 

- Excellent negotiation and communication skills 

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities 


Nice to haves 

- Experience in the solar lighting industry 

- Knowledge of sustainable procurement practices 

- Supply chain certification 

- Project management experience
