The Position


We're looking for a talented Project Manager to join our team. This challenging and rewarding position will help plan, coordinate, and manage technology related projects, coordinate service requests with other development staff/partners, and manage internal projects within the organization. Our project managers generally do everything necessary to ensure our clients succeed with their web-based GIS initiatives. Our clients are located all over North America, so occasional travel may be required (when safe to do so). 

 

We're looking for someone with strong communication and interpersonal skills who is comfortable facilitating meetings and leading initiatives. This position involves constant attention to the big picture with the client/business partner relationship to ensure successful execution. You'll also be involved in the preparation and delivery of proposals and other presentations. Formal training and/or certification in project management is an asset and PMP certifications are preferred.


Responsibilities


  •  Lead the planning and implementation of projects
  •  Create detailed project plans
  •  Provide leadership to project teams to support internal and external customer requirements and project delivery
  •  Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
  •  Estimate the resources and participants required for project needs
  •  Identify risks and escalate where appropriate
  •  Verify and control project scope
  •  Manage project budget successfully
  •  Create project performance reports
  •  Manage and update project contracts
  •  Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders
  •  Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel
  •  Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path
  •  Communicate effectively with the PMO manager to ensure performance of contracts and budgets
  •  Adhere to corporate and PMO procedures and methodology


Requirements


  •  Experience using Knowledge of project management techniques and tools
  •  Experience managing software development or other IT projects
  •  Direct work experience in project management capacity
  •  Proficiency delivering projects in agile and waterfall methodologies
  •  Experience in people management, risk management, and change management
  •  Knowledge of GIS, Geomatics industry, and internet mapping is desirable
  •  Formal training and/or certification in project management is an asset
  •  Scrum Master Certification is an asset
  •  Candidates with PMP certification are preferred
