Job Description:

We are seeking a Quality Engineer who will provide support in the documentation and operation of our Quality Department. As part of our team, you will be the de facto problem solver working closely with various departments as we pursue ISO9001 certification.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage our Failure Analysis Processes.

- Investigate Root causes of internal and external failures.

- Recommend and implement mitigation strategies.

- Assist in Product design, particularly by developing incoming and outgoing quality control plans.

- Generate product documentation (assembly manuals, data sheets, drawings, etc.).

- Develop and maintain further procedures in the Quality department.

- Join the ISO9001 certification team.

- Conduct internal and external audits.

- Perform other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

- Post-secondary education in engineering (preferred), other degrees considered.

- Fundamental understanding of electric motors and DC circuits is preferred.

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required.

- Candidates must be living in the Greater Victoria area and able to commute to the company office.

Experience:

- 3+ years experience working in a relevant field (co-ops and project work considered).

- Experience using small hand tools and other types of power equipment found in a machine shop.

Skills:

- Strong diagnostic skills.

- Computer literate.

- Excellent problem solving skills & high attention to detail. 

- Proficient with CAD/3D modelling software.

- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.

We expect all team members to demonstrate exceptional decision-making skills, conflict resolution skills, and a positive team mindset. Participation in various business activities including presenting products and solutions (both internally and externally) means the ability to speak with influence and impact is considered an important asset. Must be able to travel on an occasional basis. As we are a growing company, supervisory experience will also be considered an asset.

Work Hours:

    Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm - 40 hours per week.

Salary Range:

    $52,000 - $85,000
