Your Role:

Are you ready to take the lead on exciting technical projects and make a real impact? As a Project Engineer at Quester Tangent, you'll be at the heart of our technical planning and execution. Working closely with a Project Manager, you’ll drive all technical aspects of our contracts, ensuring everything runs smoothly from start to finish.

In this role, you'll estimate effort, assign tasks, track processes, and manage requirements with precision. You will lead client technical discussions, present at design reviews, and track and report progress, making sure every detail is accounted for. As the technical project lead, you'll be the face of our company in meetings with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders, focusing on design details and project integration tactics, showcasing your expertise, and representing our commitment to excellence.

What You’ll Do:

•Lead process improvement and standardization within the Project Engineering team.

•Ensure the successful completion of engineering product development and delivery projects.

•Manage project schedules, budgets, and scopes.

•Plan, schedule, and coordinate the technical aspects of projects.

•Develop, specify, and monitor Engineering Work Orders.

•Coordinate, prepare, review, and approve engineering deliverables, such as technical publications, documentation, drawings, testing, and requirements management.

•Ensure effective internal and client communications, focusing on maintaining strong working relationships with stakeholders.

•Oversee project plans by reviewing design specifications, plans, schedule changes, and recommending actions.

•Maintain project schedules by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving issues.

•Travel to customer locations to attend design review meetings and oversee qualification testing activities.

•Performance management and reporting of project team members in cooperation with group manager.


What You’ll Need to Succeed:

•Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Software, or Computer Engineering.

•Systems Engineering education or experience is considered an asset.

•PMP certification or other project management training is preferred.

•Ability to work with technical teams to create innovative, yet maintainable solutions.

•Effective strategic communication skills and the ability to intake and summarize complex technical information.

•Strong, organized self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

•Strong proficiency in English writing, speaking, and comprehension is mandatory. 

•Comfortable working in a team environment and with minimal supervision.

•The ability to travel is a requirement of this position; individuals must hold a valid passport and authorization to travel to our customer’s locations, primarily within Canada and the United States.


Experiences that will help you thrive:

•Minimum 5, preferably 10, years of experience in managing technical projects and supervising multi-disciplinary technical teams in an electronics or software development environment.

•Familiarity with the CMMI process is an asset.

•Experience with team building. 

•Experience with change management methods.

•Experience with the implementation or definition of cybersecurity strategies, as well as other networking or Information Technology, is an asset.
