CanExport SMEs provides up to $50,000 in funding to assist with international market

development activities. It covers up to 50% of costs for export marketing of your

products and services in international markets where you have little or no sales.

Examples of eligible expenses include travel, participating in trade shows, consultant

fees, translation, legal services, and registering IP in new markets. Applicant’s guide

CanExport Innovation provides up to $75,000 in funding to help establish R&D

partnerships for the purpose of co-developing, validating or adapting a technology. The

program covers up to 75% of costs to pursue and sign collaborative R&D agreements

with international partners and investors, which includes travel, IP protection,

translation, and legal/business advice. For this, the key aspect is that your partners

need to be pre-identified and have expressed interest in potentially working with you.

historical trends, the program is normally fully committed by mid-September each year
