The City of Victoria is working with stakeholders to develop an Action Plan for the Industry, Arts and Innovation District located near Rock Bay. The goal is to support the district as it evolves into a lively and collaborative place for economic opportunity, innovative industry, Indigenous economic prosperity, and working artists – building on goals articulated in the Victoria 3.0 economic development strategy.

On June 15, the City will launch this process publicly with two Ideas Jams to gather ideas for the future Rock Bay Industry, Arts and Innovation District, held at Kwench. Community members are invited to explore themes such as what form development should take, how people can move around, and what sort of public spaces can build a unique sense of place and character.

Concepts generated will inform an Action Plan of specific strategies to support the district’s evolution.

This work builds on the vision in Victoria 3.0, the City’s economic development strategy and consultation over the past months with a working group of diverse stakeholders from business, the arts, and higher education.
