South Island Prosperity Partnership (SIPP) announced that the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority (GVHA), the leading organization for the stewardship and growth of Victoria's harbour, has become a member of SIPP’s regional economic alliance.

"The Greater Victoria Harbour Authority brings a unique blend of community stewardship and innovative economic development to our partnership," says SIPP’s CEO, Emilie de Rosenroll. "Their expertise will greatly benefit the entire region as we collaborate to strengthen our economy."

GVHA owns and manages several iconic community amenities, including the Ogden Point Breakwater, Fisherman’s Wharf, and Ship Point Pier. The organization says its business approach promotes resilient and equitable growth, ensuring Victoria's working harbour remains an asset for future generations. As a certified Silver Member of the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business, GVHA also says it recognizes the value of collaborating with Indigenous communities.

With the inclusion of GVHA, SIPP’s membership exceeds 70 organizations across the South Island, including 10 municipal governments, nine First Nations governments, three post-secondaries, and major regional employers, industry associations, and non-profits.
