Victoria recognized as one of the Top Small Cities in the World
Victoria, BC has been listed as one of the top small cities in the world by Monocle. The publication heralds 2020 as the 'decade of the small city,' citing the health, environmental, economic and community-oriented benefits of relocating to a smaller city.
The only Canadian city listed in the study, Monocle recognized Victoria's 'thriving nascent technology economy,' agreeable climate, and 'proximity to the ocean and rich cultural life,' as the primary draws of the small city. The article also recognized that Victoria is an ideal relocation option for outdoor enthusiasts, as 'The Pacific Ocean makes it perfect for swimming and kayaking, while surf breaks are plentiful. There’s lots of hiking and three hours north of the city is Mount Washington, Vancouver Island’s best ski spot.'
