On June 12th, we hosted "Intro to VIATEC 101," where our CEO, Dan Gunn, shared key insights into VIATEC’s role in Victoria's tech community. Here’s a brief recap and how you can get involved.

What Does VIATEC Do?

VIATEC (Victoria Innovation, Advanced Technology, and Entrepreneurship Council) is dedicated to growing Victoria's tech sector, aiming for $10 billion by 2030. We focus on:

Networking and Collaboration: Hosting events to connect the community.
Talent Access: Linking job seekers with tech companies.
Promotion: Highlighting local successes.
Resource Access: Offering online and in-person support.
Problem Solving: Running programs to overcome business challenges.

How Did It All Start?

In 1989, tech enthusiasts in Victoria started meeting to share ideas, forming the foundation of VIATEC. This community-first approach, supported by local companies and government funds, has enabled us to help hundreds of tech community members get the support they need.

Where Are We Now?

We continue to support our thriving local tech sector, which achieved an economic impact of $5.22 billion in 2017. We’re aiming for 250% growth by 2030.
