Creating Relationships in the Indigenous Business Space: April CEO Breakfast Club

Friday, April 14, 2023 (7:30 AM - 9:00 AM) (PDT)

Description

The creativity, flexibility, and innovation of small businesses, especially those in technology, can be a key to social change. Yet it can be difficult to form meaningful relationships, especially in the very complex Indigenous business space. Katrin Henry will share her personal observations on creating ethical business relationships and practices that do not threaten the culture, well-being, and survival of Indigenous people.

Katrin Harry (Jeh’Jeh’Ganak) is originally from Germany. In 1997, she formed her first business with Qwastånayå (L. Maynard Harry) who is from the Tla'amin Nation. Katrin has decades of project and event management experience which led her to the creation of the Advanced Business Match, a technology-assisted community of Indigenous and non-Indigenous decision-makers who come together to create opportunities for business. ABM uses technology built by Mighty Oaks in Victoria to connect impact-driven decision-makers, enabling them to expand their reach, develop business, form friendships, and decolonize.
